About Little Play Lab
Little Play Lab helps parents and caregivers find practical, screen-free activities for toddlers ages 2–5. The guides focus on everyday family situations, including quiet time, rainy days, travel, waiting, independent play, and moments when adults need a manageable activity close at hand.
Our approach to toddler activities
We aim to make ideas easy to understand and realistic to try, using common household materials where possible. Activities are organized around a clear situation or parent need, with simple instructions and reminders to adapt each idea to a child’s age, interests, abilities, and supervision needs.
How we choose and review ideas
We prioritize practical setup, clear instructions, age-appropriate use, and ways caregivers can simplify or adapt an activity. We review pages for clarity and safety considerations, and update content when a guide needs improvement. Not every activity will suit every child or household.
Safety comes first
Adult supervision is essential. Keep choking hazards and small objects away from young children, supervise water play closely, and keep toddlers away from hot surfaces, knives, and other cooking hazards. Stop or adapt an activity if it is not suitable for the child in your care.
